The Leelanau School is a boarding high school for students with learning differences. Teaching within a five senses learning curriculum includes Photography, Advanced Photography, Studio Art, Applied Design, 3-D Art, Creative Research and Practice, Puppetry, Animation and Video Editing, Blue Sky Project (artistic collaboration). Other responsibilities include serving as faculty advisor for Yearbook (faculty advisor), Venture Crew (faculty advisor).

Michigan Legacy Art Park, Thompsonville, MI
Michigan Legacy Art Park is a 30-acre outdoor sculpture park that includes over 50 works of art along 2 miles of hiking trails. The Art Park features vibrant education and artist-in-residence programs and was founded in 1995 by artist David Barr.

Director of Visual Arts Division, 2006 – 2010
Interlochen Arts Academy, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Interlochen, MI
Supervised all aspects of the Visual Arts programs for Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding high school for the arts, and Interlochen Arts Camp including staffing and daily operations, budget management, curriculum, recruiting, overseeing gallery and visiting artist programs, and outreach. Teaching included Intro to Photo, Photography Studio, Printmaking Studio, Senior Thesis Seminar, Visual Arts Open Forum, Studio Research and Practice, and Art History. Committee responsibility included Visiting Artist/Scholar and Gallery Committee (Chair), Division Directors Committee, Supervisors’ Council, Project Zero, and Artist as Revolutionary Committee. Also oversaw construction of the new $8 million Dow Center for Visual Arts.

Responsible for the curation of art exhibitions, staffing and daily operations, public relations and marketing, audience development, strategic planning, grant writing, fund-raising and budget management, overseeing internships, coordinating visiting artists and lecturers, overseeing Visiting Artist/Scholar & Gallery Committee and Gallery Advisory Board, community outreach. Teaching included Visual Arts in Civilization, Beginning Drawing, Art Appreciation, and Gallery Management. Other committee work included the All-University Arts Committee, All-University Arts Events Subcommittee, Recruitment Committee, and Sagamore Circle.

Responsibilities included the management, coordination and staffing of 12 varied arts programs for youth at-risk in Bridgeport, management and coordination of arts components for 6 agencies within Bridgeport who deal with youth at-risk, supervision of 6 outreach programs throughout Fairfield County, participation in strategic planning and budgeting, planning and implementation of program curriculum, assisting C.E.O. with program development, installation and facilitation of all new programs, coordinating with marketing and development office on program promotion and public relations, assisting development and marketing office with special events and fundraising, service on the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board and Teen Training Sub-Committee.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Art and Gallery Director, 1997 – 2000

Served as the Art Foundations Coordinator and integrated foundations curriculum for the departments of Integrated Media Arts, Industrial Design, and Interior Design. Teaching included Visual Organization, Color Theory, Drawing I-III, Printmaking I, Sculpture I, Intro to Computers, Typography, Senior Project. As Gallery Director, responsibilities included curation of art exhibitions; staffing and daily operations; public relations and marketing; audience development; strategic planning; grant writing; fund-raising and budget management; sales; overseeing gallery internships; managing permanent collection; and coordinating with special events and university development; coordinating visiting artists. Other responsibilities included student advising; supervising the art studios, serving as faculty advisor for the Student Art Association and the Theater Club, and serving as building manager for the Arnold Bernhard Arts & Humanities Center. Committee work included the Gallery Review Committee (Chair) and the Campus Safety Committee.
